Welcome to Into The Wardrobe
welcomeabout
Welcome to the Into The Wardrobe blog. This is where we’ll share articles, resources, and reflections on play therapy, child development, and supporting young minds through life’s challenges.
Why a Blog?
As play therapists, we’re constantly learning — from research, from colleagues, and most of all from the children and families we work with. This blog is a way to share what we learn with you.
You can expect:
- Practical tips for supporting your child’s emotional development
- Explainers on what play therapy is and how it works
- Book and resource recommendations for parents
- Reflections on the privilege of doing this work
A Little About the Name
“Wardrobe” is a nod to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe — that magical door through which children enter a world bigger than themselves. The playroom is a lot like that. It’s an ordinary room with ordinary toys, but for a child, it can become a place where extraordinary things happen: where fears are faced, where stories are rewritten, where healing begins.
What’s Coming Next
In the coming weeks, we’ll be posting about:
- What happens in a play therapy session
- How to talk to your child about starting therapy
- Signs your child might benefit from play therapy
- The difference between play therapy and “just playing”
If there’s a topic you’d like us to write about, please get in touch through the contact page. We’d love to hear from you.
Thank you for being here. Let’s begin.
